Melabee M Miller

Melabee M Miller, an architectural photographer, has been shooting on location in the New York Metropolitan area for over twenty-five years. Melabee’s interest in detail led her trained eye to photograph doors, molding, gargoyles and most recently, flowers. Her botanical images are an outgrowth of landscape photography conducted on an estate in Rumson, New Jersey. In the twelve years that she has been working there, she has discovered both an aesthetic and intellectual love of plants as art and as nature’s architecture. Her photographs document the development of the estate and the very original natural rooms that range from a tulip garden to a shade garden to the creation of an exotic pond ripe with African water lilies surrounded by palm trees. Melabee honors flowers in her images while creating something new through the organic play of color and form.

She regularly shoots for architects, interior designers and magazine editors. You’ll find her work on the pages of the web, local and national magazines and books. Her photography of Drumthwacket, New Jersey’s Governor’s Mansion, included the interior public spaces, exterior and gardens surrounding the mansion. These photographs are featured in the book entitled Our Governors’ Mansions, a collection of photographs of these mansions located throughout the United States.

Melabee is an Industry Partner of the NJ Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers, on the board of the NY Chapter of the International Furnishings & Design Association and the past president of the NJ Chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers
